Recipe Instructions

  1. 1. Prepare the marinade Combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, chilli powder, cumin powder, garam masala, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl. Why? The yogurt-based marinade coats the paneer and distributes the spices evenly.
  2. 2. Marinate the paneer Add the paneer cubes and gently mix until coated. Allow them to rest for approximately 10–15 minutes under refrigeration.
  3. 3. Prepare the vegetables Wash the cucumber, tomatoes, capsicum, onion, and coriander thoroughly. Chop them into bite-sized pieces.
  4. 4. Cook the paneer Heat a non-stick pan and lightly grease it with oil. Add the paneer cubes and cook over medium heat, turning gently until lightly golden and heated through. Chef’s Tip: Avoid cooking paneer for too long, as it can become firm and dry.
  5. 5. Assemble the salad Combine the cucumber, tomatoes, capsicum, onion, and coriander in a serving bowl.
  6. 6. Prepare the dressing Mix lemon juice, black pepper, and salt. Pour over the vegetables and toss gently.
  7. 7. Serve Divide the paneer tikka between two portions and serve alongside the fresh cucumber salad.
